Frequently asked questions

What should I expect from a creative workshop with The Makery Co?

Our goal is to provide a warm, joyful and safe space for all to explore and nurture their inner artist. We want everyone to feel excited about having the opportunity to be creative instead of overwhelmed or daunted by the experience.

In our workshops you will be guided by one of our creative team members to assist you in your chosen creative experience.

We provide seating, materials and anything else specific to the unique creative workshop you have chosen - and, of course, glassware for your BYO bubbly!

So come be inspired, bring your friends and family, let us guide you and help you through your doubts to create wonderful things together!

What is Pop In & Paint?

Pop in & Paint is open to everyone (all ages welcome) outside of the times we run our 2 hour creative workshop sessions.

Pop In & Paint usually runs from 10am-1pm both Saturday and Sunday. Please be advised that times may vary.

Come in and choose from a range of creative projects, which vary from week-to-week. Take as long (or little) time you need to finish your chosen project.

Should I make a booking in advance?

Bookings for workshops are essential at The Makery Co. We have extremely limited spots available, so booking in advance is more than necessary. All bookings can be made via our website, please browse all our current workshops here, or contact us for a group booking, events & parties.

No bookings are required for Pop In & Paint, which usually runs from 10am-1pm both Saturday and Sunday. Please be advised that times may vary.

How old do I need to be to attend The Makery Co?

Creative Workshops

Breastfeeding mums with bubs are welcome to attend creative workshops, however given we are a BYO venue, toddlers, preschoolers and children who aren't paid ticket holders are not permitted during creative workshops.

Where is the studio located?

The Makery Co is located in Hahndorf at Shop 1, 37A Mount Barker Road, Hahndorf - just next to The Hahndorf Inn.

Directions can be found here.

Where do I park?

Please be advised there is no onsite parking available. Please allow ample time to find a park as Hahndorf can be very busy. We recommend allowing 15 - 20 minutes to find a suitable park and make your way to the shopfront in time for class.

Do you travel for workshops?

Bookings of over 20 may be considered for an offsite option. Please contact us and one of our friendly staff will get back to you shortly.

I saw you only have workshops available on weekends. Can I book a workshop during the week?

What time should I arrive to the workshop I've booked?

Please arrive 5-10 minutes early so we can start the session on time. Please note that late arrivals are disruptive for the session and vital information will be missed.

What should I wear?

Please wear comfortable clothing and footwear that can get a little dirty.

Are food and drinks provided during creative workshops?

The Makery Co is a BYO venue only so we don’t sell any drinks (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) or food in the studio. You are welcome to bring any type of alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage to the class, along with your own yummy snacks and food.

Please note, inappropriate behaviour associated with alcohol consumption will not be tolerated.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my booking?

Please read about our cancellation policy here.
